Appreciating Classical Music

Interesting discussion slash catfight on how to introduce classical music to the unwashed masses at Musical Perceptions, Sound and Fury and Uncertain Principles.

I'm just curious as to how all the posters involved would respond to my assertion that this is the greatest music ever written.

I, for one, would respond by saying your enthusiasm has gotten the better of you.

Be that as it may, the song (the music part, not the lyrics, which for the most part I can't quite make out) is kinda neat, and I like it.

Well yes, 'greatest music ever written' is possibly a bit of an overstatement.

Still I'm pleased that you liked it. I expected a less open minded response from the guy who called everyone over at Uncertain Principles 'culturally benighted' and 'cluelessly arrogant'.

Not "everyone". Just the "culturally benighted" and "cluelessly arrogant" twit who wrote the post I linked to.

I must admit I'm not sure exactly what you find so offensive about Chad's post...
